NTP STARTS TB CASE NOTIFICATION PILOT PROJECT IN FIVE DISTRICTS OF PAKISTAN
Mandatory TB Case Notification Acts have been approved by the Provinces Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, & Punjab.
The project will be implemented in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the support of Global Fund are implementing one-year pilot project in five districts of Pakistan. The Project is being implemented in Hyderabad, Matari and Jamshoro in Sindh province and Peshawar and Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
National TB Control Program has supported Provincial Programs to establish Online TB case notification system through helpline. Following are the steps are involved in online TB case notification
HCPs registration: Health Care Provider will send free SMS “REGD” to 9112 for registration.
Patient Notification: Health Care Provider will send SMS “NOTIFY” to 9112 for patients’ notification.
Representative from helpline will call to registered doctor to collect the patient details to enter in DHIS-2 application. District Field Supervisors coordinate with HCP and notified patient for further follow up and treatment adherence as per National Guidelines.
National TB Control Program has established a helpline 0800-8880 to provide assistance/information to Healthcare providers about TB.
